Platform Lift and Stair Lift Maintenance & Service
Both platform lifts and stair lifts should be maintained in accordance with Pandect recommendations to ensure the Warranty provisions are not compromised and to keep the lift in excellent working condition. Maintaining the lift will also prolong the life of the product.
Platform lifts
General
- Lifts require minimal maintenance by the owner (documented in the Owners Manual)
- Where Pandect undertakes a scheduled service of a lift, this involves a full and thorough inspection of the structural and operational functions of the lift and its interface with the surrounding environment
- Lift repairs should only be undertaken by suitability trained technicians who are knowledgeable of the product and compliance requirements and to ensure that appropriate replacement parts are used where required
- In the unlikely event that your lift needs to be repaired, Pandect can arrange for a trained technician to call and repair your lift and we offer an emergency call out service where required
Residential
- Lifts in residential settings should be serviced every twelve (12) months (NB: Lifts in residential settings do NOT require an annual Safety Inspection Certificate)
- Pandect offers a Service Agreement for clients to arrange for the regular programmed servicing of your lift
Commercial
- Lifts in commercial settings must be serviced in accordance with the Building Compliance Schedule. This is usually at six (6)monthly intervals (or more frequently where governing bodies may require this e.g. Education Department)
- Lifts must also be inspected and signed off annually (Safety Inspection Certificate issued) by an Independently Qualified Person (IQP)
- Both the servicing schedule and IQP inspection, recorded in the lift’s Log Book, are required for the Building’s Warrant of Fitness (BWoF)
- Pandect offers a Service Agreement for clients to arrange for the regular programmed servicing and IQP inspection of your lift
